The Best Time to Apply for Canada PR 2024

The professional, scientific, and technical services industry witnessed employment growth, accounting for more than one third of total net employment growth in the last three years in Canada, according to the latest Labor Force Survey report released by Statistics Canada.

It is important to note that many Canadian industries and employers are facing challenges to hire talented skilled workers to replace employees reaching the age of retirement. Approximately nine million Canadians will retire by 2030 after attaining the age of 65 years. Given these conditions, various Canadian employers, industries and organisations are seeking efficient foreign skilled workers and professionals, who can join the workforce for longer duration.

The office of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced the Immigration Levels Plan 2023-2025. Under this plan, it has been targeted to grant visas to as many as 110,770 immigrants, skilled workers and professionals in 2024 through Express
Entry managed programs. The office of IRCC aims to welcome between 430,000 to 542,500 new PR status holders in 2024.

Besides increasing immigration targets in 2024, IRCC is expected to launch updates across various programs and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline overall experience of candidates. IRCC also introduced new multi-year plans in 2024 for PNPs. This will support provinces and territories to make concrete plans for respective provincial immigration strategies. It is important to note that all provinces and territories will know their 2025 allocation a year in advance or in 2024.

IRCC implemented usage of Artificial Intelligence in immigration process from 2024. It aims to reduce processing times, facilitate support to country’s immigration system, improve service standards, strengthen partnerships with employers and institutions who look for ideal and talented candidates for hiring, and to make applications processing simpler and user-friendly.

In order to protect students from fake sources, IRCC has launched a reformed Letter of Acceptance (LOA). It is a verification system that will impact all study permit applicants. All Designated Learning Institutes (DLIs) in Canada will ascertain authenticity of applicant’s Letter of Acceptance (LOA) directly with IRCC authorities. In 2024, IRCC will conduct a review of Post-Graduate Work Permit program since several PGWP holders intend to apply for PR benefits by increasing their CRS points by gaining Canadian work experience.

The Latest Express Entry Draws announced on 31st May, 2024 with the score of 522 CRS points asked from the applicants with 3,000 applications being sent to Canadian Experience Class candidates only.
