What are the Eligibility Requirements of Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities Stream?

  • The applicant should have a Letter of Interest (LOI) from the Nova Scotia province received within the Express entry system.
  • Submit your application in 30 calendar days after receiving your LOI.
  • The applicant needs to have full-time work experience in your desired field of occupation in Nova Scotia in the past five years.
  • Applicants' age should be between 18-49 years of age.
  • You have a valid passport or text document of the country where you are residing legally.
  • You have a degree, diploma, or certificate from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.
  • You have the required amount of funds to settle in here.
  • You have intentions to settle in Nova Scotia permanently.

  1.  The first step would be to apply for immigration to Canada through Express Entry Program. Create an Express Entry profile online on their website. Enter all your personal details like age, education, work experience, etc. Once you have completed the profile, you will be given a registration code. Hold on to it because you will need it again when you apply for immigration to Nova Scotia.
  2.  While making your Express Entry profile online, you will be asked about where you want to move in Canada in one of the segments. Make sure you choose Nova Scotia in this segment. It is because when the Nova Scotia immigration officers are looking through Express Entry Pool, your application will get their attention.
  3.  If they find your application suitable according to CRS Calculator, you will be asked to create a profile on the Nova Scotia Immigration website. Here too you will have to enter all your personal details correctly.
  4.  After you have made your profile, your application will be assessed and given a score by the CRS Calculator. If you manage to score at least 67 points in the assessment, you will qualify to apply for Nova Scotia immigration.
  5.  If your immigration application is accepted, then Nova Scotia Immigration authority will issue you a PNP. This will allow you get selected for immigration in next Express Entry Draw.
  6.  Once you are selected for immigration in the draw and receive an ITA, you will have 90 days to apply for Canada Permanent Residency (PR) and another year to move there.
