Recently Canada has announced the Multi-Year Immigration level Plan 2020 - 2023. Canada's economy hugely depends on immigrants who come to Canada and fill the gap in the lap market, thus going by the latest drip in the economic conditions due to the Coronavirus pandemic. There has been a high target that has been set for the coming few years.

For the next three years, the Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2021- 2023 target is set as follows:

  • 2021: 401,000 immigrants
  • 2022: 411,000 immigrants
  • 2023: 421,000 immigrants

Thus, the year 2020 is expected to be a year of good immigration opportunities. While Canada has opened gates for aspirants, it is also wise to analyze why anyone should move to the country.

Some core reasons being -

  • It offers lenient immigration laws
  • low crime rate.
  • It has a beautiful infrastructure
  • growth opportunities for almost every profession

Why people seek Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) status?

Canada Permanent Residency (PR) status is the right to live and work in Canada, and it is allotted for a period of five years; it is a  family visa.  The best part of the PR status in Canada is that you can apply for a full Canadian Citizen after you have stayed in Canada for more than three years out of the five years of PR visa.  However, the benefits that Canadian PR offers is very similar to the full citizen. Some of them are listed below:

  • Free Health Insurance.
  • Free Education.
  • Protection against Crime as per Charter 6 of the Canadian Law.
  • Right to apply for Canadian Citizenship after a period of three years.
  • Canadian Passport allows you to travel visa-free in a number of countries
  • Allows the applicant to sponsor your relative in Canada.

Further, it is good news that in the last few years, the government of Canada has relaxed its rules for immigration and has invited more and more applicants. This year the Canadian government has taken another pertinent step where the point score requirement for the French Community has been increased so that more French-speaking people move to Canada in regions outside of Quebec.
