It is the fourth time in a row that the IRCC has conducted only PNP-specific draw. In the latest draw of 888 Express entry applicants have been selected.
The new express entry draw was announced on October 27 by the IRCC, in which 888 applicants were selected for immigration. In the latest draw, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) selected applicants with the minimum CRS score of 744. Since there was a provincial nominee program draw, the selected appellant had 600 extra points in the federal points core calculation upon getting the nomination. It leaves the original score of the applicants to be 144 only.
The key highlights of the draw
It was the third-largest PNP draw of the year. The biggest draw of the year was on June 23, in which 1,002 Express Entry candidates got invited, and the second-largest draw was on June 9, in which 940 applicants were selected. In the previous express entry draw, which was PNP specific, there were 681 applicants selected by the IRCC with a CRS score of 720.
Since the pandemic has started, the IRCC has been conducting only program-specific draws in which CEC and PNP only appellants got selected. There has not been a CEC-specific draw since September 14. In the last few months, the number of Express Entry candidates invited has been less in the past few months. The CEC draws are typically larger than PNP draws, and the biggest CEC-specific draw in this year was in February.
Even with the reduced number of invitations in the last few months, This year is still a record-breaking year with high express entry appellants being selected. So far in 2021, The Canada Government ash already invited 111,265 Express Entry candidates for permanent residence. Last year, by this time, the total number of applicants selected was 107,350 immigration candidates.
