The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Tech Pilot draw was held on April 6, 2021. There were 80 applicants invited in the draw under Express Entry BC and Skills immigration categories. The Skilled Worker and International Graduate subcategories applicants required a minimum provincial score of 80.
The Key Highlights of the Draw – BC PNP Tech Pilot
The BC PNP Tech Pilot is an immigration pathway for tech workers and international students for relocation in British Columbia. The program got launched in 2017 and has been one of the most successful programs of British Columbia, with an extension till June 2021.
All those applicants registered in one of B.C.’s existing provincial streams of immigration and have an authentic job offer of at least one-year full time in one of the Tech Pilot’s 29 eligible occupations are selected through this program.
The applicants who wish to be considered in the Skills Immigration or Express Entry BC category should start the process by creating a profile through the BC PNP’s online portal. They should also register under its Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
The appellants are issued a score that helps them get selected in the invitation round based on the score. The score is calculated on different factors such as education level, years of direct work experience, and having a B.C. employment offer.
Since 2021 has started, the B.C. province has conducted 19 draws in different PNP categories and streams, and a handsome number of 3,000 candidates have been selected to apply for a provincial nomination.
In the Express entry Linked stream, the appellants who receive a B.C. Nomination they are allotted an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in the subsequent draw, which guarantees the Invitation To Apply (ITA).
Ideally, the Express Entry draws are conducted twice a month. The most recent Express Entry draws were on March 31 and April 1, and a total of 5284 invitations to apply got issued in total.
