The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) announced the details of October 12, in which 293 applicants got selected; the CRS score for the selection of appellants was 300 points. The Alberta Express Entry Stream was selected in the draw, and those with the minimum benchmark score received the ITA.

The Key Highlights of The draw -

  • ITA - 293
  • CRS - 300

It is the first draw held by the province this month. In September, Alberta province held four Alberta Express Entry stream draws, and the least required score in all the draws was 300. In September alone there were 1,610 invitations issued.

After this draw, Alberta province has now invited 5,910 Express Entry candidates for a provincial nomination since it has resumed invitation rounds in January 2021. There was a temporary hiatus in the latter months of 2020 due to the corona Virus by Alberta. The draws invited Express Entry candidates for a nomination certificate. The target set for the year for Alberta is 6,250 nomination certificates.

The Alberta Express Entry Stream

The Alberta Express Entry stream is linked to the Federal express entry stream and is an enhanced Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The province has the right to select applicants from the Express Entry pool of candidates and see if they are eligible for a provincial nomination.

Express Entry is a skilled workers pathway and is the fastest way to immigrate; the three subcategories in this stream are Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Program, and Federal Skilled Trades Program.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a point-based tool that helps create the score as per age, education, work experience, language ability in English or French, and other factors. Those who meet the CRs score are selected by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). It is the highest-scoring candidate who can get permanent residence.

Those who do not immigrate through the Express Entry system with low CRS scores can choose to immigrate through the PNP. Having a provincial nomination allows the applicant with 600 points in their overall score.
