Trades Candidates Selected in the Express Entry Draw held on 16th October

It was the second program-specific raw of 2019. There were 500 Federal Skilled Trades class workers invited by the Government of Canada. The selected applicants were those whose Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score was 357.

To be selected in this category the applicants had to prove the following:

  • Foreign nations with qualification for the trade
  • They should have adequate work experience
  • They should have an eligible offer letter

The Federal Skilled Trades program is the subcategory of the Express Entry program. In the earlier Express Entry Draw, all the three subcategories were considered. But this was a rare Express entry draw in which only one subcategory was considered for the PR status of Canada. The CRS score required in this draw was 357 points, which was 81 points less than the CRS score needed for the last draw, which was 438 points.

PEI Selected 158 candidates in Express Entry, Labor Impact and Business Impact

In the latest provincial draw, Prince Edward Island selected 158 candidates for Provincial Nomination in Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact category. This draw was held on 17th October, and the candidates who held filed the separate Expression of interest (EOI) to the PEI PNP were considered in the draw.

The Expression of interest (EOI) has its point grid, and the candidates who secure the highest points are selected in the monthly draws.  In the latest draw, there were 146 candidates chosen in the express entry and labor impact category. There were 12 invitations through business impact.  The labor impact category is for candidates who have a valid job offer letter and support from a PEI employer.

The subcategories of Labor impact are:

  • Skilled worker
  • Critical worker
  • International graduate

With this, the total number of applications issued by PEI has reached 1177 in 2019.

A Record Draw held by Saskatchewan Province

The province of Saskatchewan held a record-breaking draw on 18th October. There were 1000 candidates invited in the latest provincial draw. The selected candidates were required to have specific work experience.  A total of 986 invitations were sent in the Express entry system. The SINP’s express entry pathway is linked to the Express Entry System.

Twelve occupations were the selection targets in the latest draw, and they are:

  • Retail and wholesale trade managers (NOC 0621)
  • Restaurant and foodservice managers (NOC 0631)
  • Construction managers (NOC 0711)
  • Managers in agriculture (NOC 0821)
  • Other financial officers (NOC 1114)
  • Accounting technicians and bookkeepers (NOC 1311)
  • Information systems analysts and consultants (NOC 2171)
  • Social and community service workers (NOC 4212)
  • Early childhood educators and assistants (NOC 4214)
  • Technical sales specialists – wholesale trade (NOC 6221)
  • Heavy-duty equipment mechanics (NOC 7312)
  • Automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics and mechanical repairers (NOC 7321)

The shortlisted candidates are eligible for 600 points in the express entry system after they are selected. The good thing about the selection in SINP is that a job offer by a Saskatchewan employer is not mandatory.
