The latest draw of Saskatchewan selected 391 applicants in the two immigration programs - SINP’s Express Entry subcategory and Occupations In-Demand subcategory.

On September 27, The Saskatchewan province selected 391 applicants in the latest Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). The applicants were selected from the two Immigration programs - Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand.

Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand candidates

Out of the 391, there was 152 eligible through the SINP’s Express Entry subcategory and 239 eligible for the Occupations In-Demand subcategory.

The lowest-scoring candidate in each category should have 71 points on Saskatchewan’s Expression of Interest (EOI) ranking system to be selected.

In this draw, 61 eligible occupations were listed for each category. It is important for both categories to get the Educational Credential Assessments to establish that the foreign education was as per the Canadian standard.

Saskatchewan’s Express Entry Subcategory

The Express Entry linked stream of Saskatchewan is an enhanced Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

Express Entry Program selected skilled workers as per the points, and they are selected in three categories: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.

To be considered by the province, the applicant needs to create EOI profiles for Saskatchewan. The shortlisted applicants are also eligible for 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System score.

The Occupations In-Demand Subcategory

The Occupations In-Demand subcategory of Saskatchewan is a base PNP, which means it helps the immigration candidates who do not have an Express Entry profile.

It is a subcategory for highly skilled workers with experience in an in-demand occupation in Saskatchewan, and they need not have a job offer in the province. The foreign nationals should have an EOI profile in the SINP’s online application system to be able to relocate through this system.

Candidates are assessed as per their work experience, education, language, age, and connections to the province to ascertain their ability to settle in Saskatchewan.
