Latest EOI draw saw Saskatchewan PNP inviting the highest number of applicants in Occupation in-demand and Express Entry program.

On November 1st Saskatchewan conducted the new draw for Occupation in-demand and Express Entry. A total of 926 invitations were extended to candidates to apply for PR visa under provincial nomination. This is the highest number of invitations issued under EOI system in Saskatchewan.

The Occupation In-Demand sub-category was moved to the EOI system in July this year and since then, 4 draws have been conducted. The present draw saw a record of 671 invites with the lowest ranked applicant with a score of only 61 points.

To fit into this subcategory the candidates are selected out of the Express Entry system. They should achieve a score of minimum 60 points in Saskatchewan’s point assessment grid and should have at least 12 months of full-time work experience in any of the in-demand occupations in the province.

During the draw, invitations were extended to 255 candidates under Express Entry. The lowest score here stood at 60 points. The sub-category is part of the Federal Express Entry system which manages the pool of candidates for Canada’s three main economic immigration categories - the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class, and the Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates applying for Saskatchewan PNP need not have a job offer in hand to receive the invitation. At least one year of work experience and a score of 60 points is sufficient for them to qualify. Once they are selected for provincial nominations, a total of 600 points will be added to a candidate’s profile in Express Entry, thus making them rank higher than other candidates.

How to qualify for EOI system:

  • Candidates must create EOI profile to enter either Occupation in-demand and Express Entry program.
  • Based on their work experience, education, language score, and other factors, the applicants will be scored under the Saskatchewan’s points assessment grid.
  • Those with highest scores will be issued an invitation to apply for PR visa.
  • Candidates who have any connection to the province may have an upper hand in case many candidates have the same score.

From the date of receiving the invitation, the candidates have 60 days to process their application and submit the documents.
