The Ontario Rural Immigration Pilot program will focus on bringing people in the rural communities of Ontario.

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot program also includes five communities in Ontario among the eleven communities which are part of the pathway. This is expected to bring a cap of additional 2750 candidates each year.

Ontario's Push for Greater Immigration Powers

Ontario is prepared to push for greater immigration powers and gain greater control than Saskatchewan. The Province of Saskatchewan is set at a target of 1.4 million by 2030 and is planning to add 1,000 00 jobs. For this, immigration is considered to be highly pertinent.

However, Quebec is also in competition with Ontario for greater control as 1991 Canada – Quebec accord grants Quebec with the full control over Economic Class selection.
