In the recent draw announced on December 1, the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) issued invites to Express Entry candidates. Nova Scotia issued new invitations to apply for a nomination for Canadian permanent residence through its Express Entry-linked Labour Market Priorities immigration stream on December 1. The number of applicants selected in the draw was not specified.
In the Labour Market Priorities Stream of NSNP, the applicants were selected from the federal Express Entry pool. The selection was based on applicants meeting the labor market requirements. In the past draws, the targeted streams were programmers and media developers, automotive industry workers, and nurses. The latest draw invitation was also sent to applicants who have the job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in full-time skilled work. The job offer should be for at least one year. The full term meant that applicants should have work for at least 30 hours per week. The selected candidates were also required to have one year of skilled, job-related work experience along with a Canadian secondary school diploma.
The Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score was set at five or higher in French or English. The shortlisted applicants now have 30 days to submit the complete application to NSNP.
The applicants from the Express Entry pool who were selected for the Labour Market Priorities Stream were also expected to have a profile in the Express Entry system. The Express Entry system has three subcategories: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP),and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
