The first PNP draw of Manitoba Province was held in 2022. There were 443 Immigration applicants invited to apply for a provincial nomination.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) invited 443 immigration applicants to three Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). The Minimum Expression of Interest (EOI) score in the three streams was set as follows:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba - 357 invitations with a minimum score of 459;
  • Skilled Workers Overseas - 53 invitations with a minimum score of 711; and
  • International Education Stream - 33 invitations with no score requirement.
  • Express Entry system - 97 applicants selected

About Express Entry System

The Express Entry program is a federal system that selects skilled workers based on the point score allocation. The three streams in which the applicants are selected are the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.

The Point scores are calculated with the help of the Comprehensive Ranking System tool, and the candidates who meet the minimum score requirement are selected for immigration. The factors that help in point score calculation are age, work experience, education, and language skills. It is the highest-scoring candidates who receive the ITA.

The selection for a provincial nomination allocates the applicants with the right to gain automatic 600 CRS points against the subsequent Express Entry draw.

Manitoba Immigration Programs

Manitoba Province selects the applicants in immigration programs through the MPNP. If the applicant wants to get the LAA from Manitoba, he needs to have a registered Expression of Interest with the MPNP. Such applicants can receive the LAA through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams.

Manitoba ranks the applicants out of 1,000 points based on their human capital factors and also their connection to the province. The Skilled Workers Overseas and Skilled Workers in Manitoba categories help meet the labour market demand. The Skilled Workers Overseas Category needs the applicants to have a connection to the province through close family ties Manitoba's, previous experience, or an invite with Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

Under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba category, having a full-time job offer letter is important. International graduates in Manitoba can receive an invitation under the International Education Stream if they have in-demand skills.
