Latest Express Entry Draw Invited 3500 Applicants for Canada Permanent Residency

The Express Entry draw as announced on 5th February 2020 in which 3500 candidates saw their dream of Canada permanent residency come true. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required for the selection of the applicants in this draw was 472. This score is one-point higher than the previous express entry draw held on 22nd January, and the score requirement was 471.

The Latest Express Entry Draw

A job offer is not mandatory to get selected in the Express Entry program of Canada. The candidate should meet the minimum CRS score requirement. The highest-scoring candidates get selected in the draw, which generally comes after every 15 days gap. With the latest draw of 5th February, the total number of invitations issued in 2020 has reached 10,300. The target of the year for new permanent residency candidates is set at 85,800, and for the year 2021, it is 88,800.

There is an increase in the provincial nominee program targets as well, with the goal is set to rise to 67,800 in 2020 and 71,300 in 2021. The selected candidates are in the provincial nomination program are eligible for 600 bonus points in the express entry candidacy.

Just like the other times, the tie break rule was applied this time as well, which was set on 30th January 2020 at 07:36:26 UTC. It means that all those candidates who scored 472 points and had submitted the profile before the mentioned date and time are the shortlisted candidates. The point requirement has gone up by one - point since the last draw of 22nd January and the invitations sent also saw an increase of 100 more applicants selected. It was the first time this year that 3500 candidates get the letter for the PR status of Canada.
