On March 17, the Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) selected 183 applicants for immigration, and the minimum score of selection was set at 682. CRS score was set at a high rate. The earlier selected applicants had previously received a nomination from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The applicants who had 600 bonus points for selection needed a score of 82 points only to make it to the Provincial nomination this time.
The Key Aspects of the Draw -
As per the Tie-break rule, the candidates with the minimum score of 682 were those who had submitted the Express Entry profile before March 4, 2021, at 16:56:20 UTC. IRCC considers the date and time tag of the tie-break rule to be an administrative requirement.
It is a second PNP specific draw of Express entry in arrow after the March 8 Express Entry draw in which 671 PNP applicants were selected. With this latest draw, the IRCC has issued 38,840 Invitations to Apply (ITA) so far in 2021. It is three times more than the Invitations issued last year around this time. Canada has ambitious targets set for this year at 4,01,000 newcomers, and a big Express Entry draw was announced on February 13, 2021, in which 27,332 ITAs were issued.
Express entry Pathway is an immigration system in which the applicants can relocate in six months. There are three programs through which the applicant can choose to relocate - Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
The applicants are ranked as per their capabilities on the points score calculation. The Points are allocated as per age, education, work experience, and language ability in English or French. Those applicants who meet the point score are eligible for immigration, and they are provided the ITA, which needs to be responded to in 60 days.
