First Invitations for Skilled Worker’s Candidates Issued through Arrima Portal by Quebec

The province of Quebec has started issuing invitations under the Arrima System. For this, the applicants with the expression of interest were considered. On 4th July 2019, the candidates began receiving email notifications. The Arrima system was launched in September 2018, and since then it has invited a lot of candidates under the Quebec Skilled Workers Program.

In the first round, the candidates who are prioritized are:

  • Applicants with a valid job offer from a Quebec employer.
  • Has the Quebec selection certificate application terminated on June 16, 2019, and they were temporary residents of Quebec when they had applied.
  • As a temporary resident of Quebec, they could be studying or working in the region.

On June 16, the reforms to Quebec immigration laws were passed. Those candidates who fit into the prioritized category and have not yet created an Arrima Profile they have until Dec 16, 2019, to create a profile for CSQ. There are many invitation rounds expected between now and January 16, 2020, under the Arrima System.

Premier Francois will bring Skilled Workers to Quebec

Premier Francois will play a pivotal role in economic immigration in Quebec as it will have invited skilled workers to Canada. In the French newspaper, Le Devoir, the government plans of admitting 52,500 immigrants by 2022 were reiterated by the Legault spokespersons.

Legault’s insisted that Quebec’s is highly keen on having skilled candidates in Quebec companies. In the present scenario, the Quebec Government is facing an acute shortage, and it is expected to get worse with the coming years. Combatting this labor shortage has been the top priority in the last eight months. Thus, this move is to accelerate immigration in line with the Quebec labor market demand.

2018 year-end report shared the Massive Immigration Number through Express Entry

The federal government report is out for the year 2018. It states that more than 92,000 new permanent residents were invited through Express Entry Program. There is a 41 % increase in the number than before. The IRCC released the year-end report on 2nd July 2019.

The increase in Economic immigration is attributed to the rise in admission targets. High admission targets are on the chart from the Canada Immigration Plan 2018 – 2021. Even in the PNP, the admission targets rose to 55,000. Ontario, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick all the province saw an increase in invitations. Ontario was topping the list and received 1,22,247 applications in 2018. British Columbia grabbed second place. The PNP invitations number is expected to increase by the end of 2021

As per the report, 2,80,000 people created a profile in the Express Entry Program and out of this 70 % were eligible in one of the subcategories of Express Entry Program. The Federal Skilled Workers Program allotted 53% ITAs in 2018, which was 47,523 out of 89,800. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) was also a sort after stream with 30,571 invites issued, and Federal Skilled Trades Program was third with 904 ITAs
