On August 19, Canada selected 3,000 Express Entry candidates for permanent residence in the latest Express Entry draw. The applicants with Canadian work experience were selected in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category, and the minimum selection score was set at 403. It is one point less than the earlier CEC draw.
The Key Highlights of the Draw
The tie-break rule was applied before August 01, 2021, at 10:13:57 UTC for the latest draw. The tie break rule is an administrative requirement that is supposed to select among the applicants with the same CRS score.
Since the start of the pandemic, the IRCC has been conducting program-specific draws only. The programs are - Provincial Nominee Program and the Canadian Experience Class. So far, there have been 16 draws of each type in 2021.
The applicants in PNP and CEC are expected to be in Canada. Thus the IRCC is aiming to convert temporary workers into permanent residents. This way, the Canadian government will not disrupt the COVID protocols and meet the Immigration targets.
