Canada Express Entry Draw invites 600 Permanent Residency Candidates

On 19th August 2020, the Canada express entry draw was announced in which 600 candidates were selected for permanent residency. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required was 771. In this draw the candidates required the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) selection to be shortlisted. It makes this draw a PNP Specific Draw. The PNP recipients are automatically eligible for 600 bonus CRS points, which is added to their base human capital score.

The Key Highlights of the Draw:

  • Invitation to Apply (ITA)s sent - 600
  • CRS score required - 771

This was the third Express Entry draw in August. On 6th August 2020, The IRCC held a rare draw of the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), in which 250 candidates were selected with the CRS score of 415. A day before an all program express entry draw was conducted, 3900 candidates made the cut with the CRS score of 476. If this pattern of pandemic time continues, then tomorrow, a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw is expected to be announced.

It was the 27th draw of 2020, and with this draw the total number of ITAs Sent this year has reached a total of 62,450, which is a new record of maximum ITAs sent this to date. It means that despite the COVID 19 crises, there have not been many erratic disruptions in immigration to Canada.

The CRS score announced in this draw is the second highest CRS score cut off this year. It means that a large number of applicants are entering the express entry pool. IRCC has used the tie break rule with effect from 24th July, 2020, at 11:29:33 UTC. It means that all the candidates who had applied to the date and time stipulated and have met the CRS 771 score are to be selected. The Tiebreak rule helps to rank the applicants with the same score.
