B.C. Province Conducts Tech Pilot Draw - Selects 95 Applicants and Extends Entrepreneur Immigration Pilot

B.C. province has invited 2535 Immigration candidates so far in 2021.

In the latest draw, British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued 95 invitations for provincial nomination on March 23, 2021. The applicants got selected under Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration categories. The Invited applicants were from the subcategories - Skilled Worker and International Graduate. The Minimum requirement for selection score was set at 80 points.

The province has also announced extending the Entrepreneur Immigration (E.I.) Regional pilot under 31St March 2024

What is the BC PNP Tech Pilot?

The BC province has a fast-track immigration path that helps skilled workers with technical skills become permanent Residents in Canada. For this, the applicants need to be registered in one of the Provincial immigration streams and should have a valid job offer for 12 months in one of the 29 eligible occupations in the Tech Sector. The  Job offer should be in a full-time, Continuous, and permanent occupation. It is the top-scoring applicants who meet the eligibility requirements which are selected by the province.

The Tech applications should be processed in two or three months. There is no separate stream for the Tech Pilot program of B.C. those who wish to be selected in this program should have a profile in the province online portal and also be registered in the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).  It is a point system that provides the opportunity to applicants with high skills. The BC Tech Pilot Program was launched in 2017, and owing to its success, it was extended until June 2021.

Entrepreneur Immigration - Regional Pilot

The Entrepreneur Immigration - Regional Pilot is a program to helps work in partnership with regional communities of less than 75,000 people. The program was launched in early 2019. All the aspiring entrepreneurs should have an exploratory visit to the community where they wish to set their business and get a community referral before registering for the pilot.
