Alberta province nomination draws remain unperturbed in the pandemic time. In the recent provincial draw, Alberta province has invited 191 candidates taking the total number of immigration in the province to 1598 so far.

The recent Alberta Express Entry Draw was introduced on 13th May 2020 in which 191 Express Entry Candidates were invited for provincial nomination. The minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score of selection was 300. The selected applicants receive Notification of Interest(NOI) on their section.

Instead of the CoronaVirus Pandemic, the Alberta Province is taking into consideration applicants who are already living and working in Alberta. Normally, a job offer letter is required to get an NOI from the Alberta express entry stream. But, during this time, the province is offering some flexibility for the Alberta PNP candidates. One of the lenient flexibility offered is that copies of documents will be accepted.

Some latest requirements during CoronaVirus pandemic are -

• The applicant should be currently working in Alberta even if they are working from home
• The work permit authorization should be given to them in their current job
• Have a full paid job that would meet the provincial minimum wage requirement

The applicants who were in full-term jobs at the time of Coronavirus pandemic and those who cannot get the license but were working in the regulated occupation will see a halt time of 60 days for processing. If the applicant has no employment history, then the applications will not be processed until there is a further notice.

So far, in 2020, Alberta has issued 1598 invitations to the Express Entry candidates. In 2019, the Alberta province invited 6884 invitations. The target for Alberta in 2020 has still not been released.
