As announced on July 5, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program has reopened its International Skilled Worker Express Entry Program for 500 new applicants.

The interested candidates who are applying through Express Entry sub-category of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program must first enter through the federal Express Entry System.

The application in the most sought-after program in the federal Express Entry aligned sub-category will be accepted on first-come, first-served basis. This means that the application lines will be closed soon after opening, which would be hardly a matter of few hours as previously seen. So, there really is a small window for candidates who want to immigrate to Saskatchewan.

However, it should be noted that candidates do not require an employment offer to apply in the Express Entry sub-category. But they should  have a minimum level of work experience related to their field of study or training in a skilled occupation (NOC O, A, or B,) on the SINP’s In-Demand Occupation List. Successful candidates who obtain a provincial nomination under the Express Entry Program will get additional 600 points under Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)

The list of occupations in SINP has been recently updated to 33 in-demand occupation. Among these 33 in-demand occupations on the updates list, & of the occupations require the candidates to candidates to obtain the specific professional licensure. The remaining occupations require a professional licensure form from the licensing bodies designated by the Government of Saskatchewan. However, in many cases, the licensure process may be completed from outside Canada.

This is the third time in 2018 that the SINP has opened its gates in Express Entry sub-category for candidates to apply. There were two previous intake periods which took place on January 10 and June 13 in which the maximum application intake was 400.
