The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) latest draw was announced on 3rd November in which 534 applicants got invited to the International Skilled Worker under two sub-categories: Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand.
The Key Highlights of the Draw - 3rd November
The applicants who had submitted the Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles were shortlisted for immigration. The minimum required cut off in both the sub-categories was set at 68 points. Out of 534 applicants, 272 candidates were invited in the Express Entry category, and 262 were from the Occupations In-Demand. In the express entry, the applicants were also required to have ten years of work experience in the required occupation and a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 8 or higher. If these two criteria are not fulfilled, then applicants require 69 points or more. There were 55 occupations that were contested in the draws. In the Occupations In-Demand sub-category, having an Educational Credential Assessment is mandatory.
The EOI system of SINP helps selects eligible applicants as per the labor market demand in the region. Candidates who wish to participate in Saskatchewan are evaluated based on work experience, education, language ability, age, and connections to the province. The Skilled workers are score out of 100 in the Points Assessment Grid of the SINP, and the highest-scoring candidates are selected for a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan.
The SINP express entry category is linked to the federal express entry system. In the latest draw, 272 applicants were picked from the Express Entry pool.
The federal Express Entry system has three sub-categories - Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
The SINP Occupations In-Demand sub-category is for those candidates who do not have a federal Express Entry profile. The candidates with work experience in occupations of labor shortages in Saskatchewan have a fair chance.
In the recent draw, there are 262 Occupations In-Demand applicants selected for a provincial nomination.
