In the latest express entry draw announced on May 13, 2020, there have been 529 candidates invited. With this draw, there are 34829 candidates that have been selected this year so far. The candidates invited are from the provincial nominee program only, and they are selected with the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score requirement of 718.
Key Highlights of the Draw:
Since there are 600 CRS points for selecting candidates in the provincial nomination category, it means the applicant's total CRS score requirement is only 118 without the nomination. With the overall CRS score of 718, the applicant will be sent an invite.
There seems to be a pattern pf PNP specific draw, which has been seen during the COVID 19 pandemic time with an alternate of targeting Provincial nomination candidates and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates for relocation. Earlier, the express entry candidates were from the CEC category, and they were required to have a cut off of 452, which was the lowest required cut off this year.
The tie break rule was also applied with effect from March 19, 2020, at 12: 53: 21 UTC. It means the candidates who submitted their application on or before this time frame are considered in the draw. IRCC has been holding this kind of draw since the lockdown has been imposed in Canada, and the travel restrictions have been imposed.
In the latest development, the frequency of the Express Entry Draw has been changed, and the CRS scores are hovering around 470 without a lot of change. Despite all these changes, the Canadian government seems determined to meet the target ITAs in 2020, which is 85,800, and out of this 34, 829 ITAs have already been sent so far, which is way higher than the ITAs sent in 2019 which was 31250 in 2019 by this time.
