Quebec Government simplified the application procedure to facilitate LMIA under the Quebec Province Occupation list.
The Government of Quebec has published the latest Occupation list to help make the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) process much more simplified. The list got released on 24 February. The Quebec government publishes an annually updated list of occupations for which advertising for an open position before hiring is not essential.
The regional list was simplified by the Quebec government last year, and this year the government has revised the provincial list. These changes are done, keeping in mind the labor market requirement in the region.
There are a lot of occupations which were in the last years’ list as well, and this year also they are the part of the list. However, a new set of 116 occupations got added, and nine occupations got removed.

These are only a few occupations that have been added. The list consists of 116 new positions. The Quebec list of Occupations is established by the employ - Quebec in Collaboration with the Ministry of Immigration. It is mapped out on the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system of Canada 2016.
Before the selection of the applicants through the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA), Canadian employers need to demonstrate that they have advertised an open position and also shown proof of funds before undertaking the recruitment process.
The selection efforts will include - Advertisement for at least 28 days, interview of eligible candidates, and also the ability to hire an applicant.
