The Prince Edward Island Province held the largest immigration draw recently, and applicants from Express Entry,  Labour Impact, and Business Impact categories were selected.

On November 19, the Prince Edward Island held its latest immigration draw. The draw's details were announced recently, and a total of 254 invitations were sent through the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). Out of these, 221 invites were through Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates, and 33 invites were through Business Impact categories. For the Business Impact, the minimum score requirement was set at 92.

The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) helps those applicants move to Canada who were not able to migrate through the express entry program. At the same time, it helps immigration candidates meet their labor market needs as well.

PEI Express Entry Category

The PEI PNP’s Express Entry Category is linked to the federal Express Entry system. There are three subcategories to qualify in the federal system - Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class. Those applicants who meet the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement as per their age, work experience, education, and language proficiency in English and French are shortlisted. The selected applicants are eligible for additional 600 points toward their CRS score. Those candidates who have an EOI profile with the PEI PNP are considered for the draw. The EOI system is a points grid system where the high scoring applicants are selected.  The PEI PNP in the latest draw has not provided a breakdown of the number of Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates invited, nor the minimum EOI score required.

PEI - Labour Impact Category

The Labour Impact Category is divided into three selection streams: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate. The Candidates who did submit an EOI profile are considered for a provincial nomination through the Labour Impact Category.

PEI -Business Impact Category

In the latest draw, there were  33 candidates selected in the Business Impact Category on November 19, and the minimum EOI score required was 92. The invites were issued under the Work Permit Stream; it is for those foreign entrepreneurs who wish to own or operate a business in PEI.
