COVID-19 pandemic has had a grave effect on International students. Thus, the Canadian government had implemented a series of measures to help students seeking Canadian study permit.
The months of clouds over student visa mysteries have finally been faded away. The Canadian government has recently released information on how to get a Canada study permit for the Fall 2020 academic year.
In times of the coronavirus pandemic, the countries have gone into lockdown, and there had been no international travel on cards for a long time. In such a state, the student visa became doubtful for the fall 2020 session. The students were exempted from the travel restrictions if they were issued the study permit before noon on March 18.
The international students are exempted from Canada Travel if their course can be undertaken online. For the essential reason, they are allowed to travel to Canada. In the online course, their reason for traveling to Canada is “Optional” or “discretionary.”
IRCC has introduced a new two-step process for study permit applications that have already been submitted. The students who want to take advantage of this temporary study permit process have until September 15 to apply for a Canada Study Permit.
The initial process will go as regular. International students are expected to obtain -
Immigration officers will access the applications. To get the full study permit, the international students will have to submit -
The regular students applying under the Student direct stream are eligible for student permit only when the file application is presented. The SDS aims to process the permits in 20 days. The eligible students at present belong to the following countries:
China, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Senegal, and Vietnam
The full study permit is essential if the students want to complete the program in Canada and eventually apply for Post-graduation Work Permit (PGWP). IRCC previously changed the earlier eligibility requirements for PGWP as designated learning Institutions from IN class to online. The international students can now do half the program online and will be allowed in Canada for three more years.
The PGWP allows students to get Canadian work experience, which will help with permanent residency.
