In the Latest Express Entry Draw announced on Apr 16, 2020, the Canadian government invited 3782 candidates for permanent residency. The invitation was sent to people who were able to achieve the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 455. It was the eleventh express entry draw of the year 2020 and 144th draw overall.

There has been a very little gap in the recent express entry draws as the last draw was announced yesterday in which 118 ITAs were sent to Provincial, Nominee Program (PNP) candidates bringing the total number of invites issued in two days to 3900. Prior to this, there were draws in which Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates were invited twice. It Could be a move undertaken with the idea that since the CEC candidates are already living in Canada, thus their immigration could be a better option considering the COVID-19 crises and travel restrictions that have been imposed recently.

The draw cut off of 455 points is 12 points lower than the Last CEC draw cut off, which was 467. Just like the other draws, there was a tiebreak rule applied this year as well in the draw in which the rule was implemented on Jan 20, 2020, at 15:20:02 UTC. It meant all the candidates with the CRS score of 455 and had submitted their profile before the stipulated time and date they are eligible for this immigration.

What the future holds for Canada Immigrants?

With this latest draw, there have been 30,400 ITAs that have been issued in 2020 so far. 2019 saw a large number of invites with 85,300 candidates. As per the Canada Immigration Level Plan 2020-2022, the government is targeting 3,41,000 immigrants in 2020 and 3,51,000 immigrants in 2021 and a large number of 3,61,000 in 2022. Further, it is also expected that the PNP admissions will increase to 20 percent in the coming years till 2022. Thus, the future seems bright in the immigration industry.
