After six months, Quebec PNP has come up with another Arrima Draw in 2020. This is the second draw of the year 2020. Before this, the last draw was revealed in January.
It is the second Arrima draw that has been released by the Quebec Province Ministry, and it is the first draw since January 2020 that is after the start of the pandemic. It took exactly six months for the second Arrima draw of the year to be conducted.
On June 18, seven candidates were invited to apply for the Quebec selection certificate (CSQ). These seven candidates were either those who had earlier applied to the Regular Skilled Worker's program or were currently residing in Quebec on a work permit or a study permit. These invitations were sent after 16,000 Regular skilled worker's applications were canceled with the introduction of Bill 9.
To be considered, those candidates who had filed an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MIFI before Dec 17, 2019, they were needed to be temporary residents of Quebec when they applied or would have a temporary study or work permit of the province at that time.
To migrate through Arrima, candidates should first submit an Expression of Interest through Arrima. MIFI, the regulatory body of Quebec, will then review the profile and issue invites to those who meet the labor market criteria.
Arrima System was introduced in 2018, and it switched the "First come First serve" approach of the Quebec province to the Expression of Interest System.
