Canada lifted the travel restrictions from people with a study visa, temporary foreign workers and approved permanent residents are free to travel.

Canada PR Holders and Exempt Permit Holders can now come back to Canada

After the travel ban order came out, there were uncertainties about prospects. There are more specific terms and conditions for foreigners who have shown a commitment to work, study, and settle in Canada.

There are regulations set for who can enter the country in the time of the Coronavirus pandemic and what are the documents they need to carry. The government has the authority to accept or deny boarding.

To Whom All Do These Travel Restrictions Apply?

This is good news for people who were planning to come to Canada for a long time or who had left Canada on vacation and were waiting to return. The students with a study permit and those enrolled in the Designated Educational Institute(DEI) were hoarded because of travel restrictions, but now there is an ease for them to come back to Canada.

These foreign nations will have to self-identify before boarding the flight and provide a valid letter of introduction or a study permit. Also, new workers who were planning to come to Canada to work in essential sectors such as agriculture, health, etc. are also included in this exemption. Foreign workers are asked to identify themselves and also provide a valid work permit. Further, the travel exemption applies to those people who made all the arrangements for travelling before the restrictions were put in place.

IRCC has confirmed that temporary foreign workers, students, and approved permanent residents are free to travel.

Also, there are travelling exemptions for immediate family members as well. The immediate family members include:

  • Spouse and Common-law partners
  • Dependent children/children of your spouses and Common-law partners
  • Parents or step parent’s
  • A guardian or tutor

The dependents should be less than 21 years of age, and there are no age restrictions for parents. Also, there is no physical location of Canadian residents as the candidate can be in Canada or any other country or travelling with a foreign national. The documents are acceptable in either paper or online format.
