The Government of Canada invites 3900 Express Entry Candidates for PR in New Draw

Since the introduction of Express Entry Program in 2015, millions of candidates have acquired PR in Canada. Out of all the draws held in the year 2018, the recent draw held on 3 October has seen an enormous hike in the number of invites sent to Express Entry candidates. The Government of Canada has invited 3900 express entry candidates for PR in its new draw. It's the largest number drawn in 2018 and the selected candidates are rejoicing at the great news! The minimum CRS score for this draw was 445.

These candidates had applied under the Express Entry System and points have been awarded on the based on different criteria such as work experience, education, age and proficiency in English or French, Canada’s two official languages. Later on, the profiles of the candidates are categorized under three main federal economic immigration categories — the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class. All the profiles are ranked according to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. The candidates with the highest scores receive Invitation to Apply, or ITA for Canada PR Visa.

Under its Multi-Year Immigration Levels Plan, the Canadian govt. has a set a target to invite 74,900 new admissions in the year 2018 and 81,400 admissions in the year 2019 through the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class.

Out of the 74,900 invitations targeted for the current year, IRCC has already issued a total of 66,400 ITAs over 21 draws held in 2018. However, the Express Entry profiles targeted in the recent draw, who will be issued an ITA is the highest. The score has recorded an increase of 4 points as compared to the draw held on 19th September in which the minimum CRS was 441 points.

The candidates who have not got the invitation to apply and want to try their luck again should work on improving their rankings. Detailed guidelines regarding this have been listed out in the Express Entry policy. The tie break date and time used in this express entry draw was October 2, 2018, at 04:02:11 UTC which means that all those candidates who have submitted their profiles before the specified date and time and have achieved a score of 445 points or above, are eligible to receive an ITA under this round of draw.
